①物质名词

B.当物质名词表示该物质的种类时，名词可数。

【世界上第一台激光打印机 - IBM3800】

激光打印机（英语：laser printer）是一种常见的在普通纸张上快速印制高品质文本与图形的打印机。与影印机一样，激光打印机也是采用静电复印的方式，但是与模拟的影印机不同的是其图像直接通过激光光束在打印机光鼓上进行扫描生成。

第一款激光打印机是全录公司的研究人员Gary Starkweather于1971年通过修改一台全录复印机而制造出来。最终激光打印机为施乐公司带来了数十亿美元的业务。

第一款激光打印机的商业产品是IBM于1976年推出的用于打印发票或者邮址的IBM 3800 型激光打印机。在技术文档上它经常被冠以“占据了整个房间”的描述，以表示它是后来大家熟悉的用于个人电脑的打印机的原型。尽管它比较庞大，但它是一款用于全新领域的设计。直到如今，仍有许多3800在使用。

【Learned Something New Today: the 1st Laser Printer - IBM 3800】

Laser printing is an electrostatic digital printing process. It produces high-quality text and graphics (and moderate-quality photographs) by repeatedly passing a laser beam back and forth over a negatively-charged cylinder called a "drum" to define a differentially-charged image. The drum then selectively collects electrically-charged powdered ink (toner), and transfers the image to paper, which is then heated to permanently fuse the text, imagery, or both, to the paper. 

The IBM 3800 is a discontinued continuous forms laser printer designed and manufactured by IBM. It is significant as a product because it was both the first laser printer manufactured by IBM] and the first commercially available continuous forms laser printer (1976).

The IBM 3800 was developed and manufactured in San Jose, California. Production was transferred to Tucson, Arizona[3] in 1980. It was also manufactured in Järfälla, Sweden.

An entry-level 3820 sold for $29,900 (equivalent to $71,947 in 2020).

39名受试者参与了这项研究。其中男性37人，女性2人。测试在一个电脑屏幕上进行，包括内容有Mackworth时钟、简单反应时间、跟踪、知觉编码测试、空间记忆搜索、语法的推理等项目。测试采用交叉随机对照设计，所有受试者都同时参与饮酒和睡眠剥夺的测试。饮酒测试是逐渐让受试者血液浓度达到0.05%（50mg/100ml）和0.1%（100mg/100ml，相当于中国的醉酒驾驶），按照量表测试5次（每小时一次）。睡眠剥夺测试是早晨6点醒来，剥夺20个小时后时间就在次日凌晨2点，21小时就是凌晨3点，每小时测试数据。

结果

在血液酒精为0.05%时，反应时间、双任务、Mackworth警惕性和符号数字测试的反应速度分别下降了约8%-15%，手眼协调测试下降约10%，反应时间在测试中错过信号数量增加了200%，疲劳的主观评分线性下降77%。只有在语法推理、记忆和搜索两项测试无明显变化。

在血液酒精浓度为0.1%时，所有测试都较差，警觉测试增加了在基线水平的三倍，手眼协调下降了50%， Mackworth测试慢了42%，疲劳的评分也是0.05%时的2倍。逻辑推理、记忆和搜索越下降10%，即使在如此高浓度的酒精状态下。

睡眠不足还会降低工作表现和自我警觉性，随着睡眠剥夺的增加，表现下降。例如，在19：00到05：00间(相当于13-23小时的睡眠剥夺)，Mackworth测试的反应速度下降了57%，反应时间下降了9%，双任务测试的反应速度下降了27%，符号数字测试的反应速度下降了15%。手眼协调在双任务的跟踪部分下降了31%，在单任务的跟踪部分下降了26%。

图2显示了每一项表现衡量指标的估计睡眠剥夺程度相当于不同浓度的饮酒含量。0.05%饮酒的等效性发生在清醒约16.91至18.55小时后，将本研究中的效应时间在22：38至00：17之间。在血液酒精浓度为0.1%的情况下，等效性在17.74 - 19.65小时后，对应于23：28 - 01：23小时。

翻译好懂的话，如果你早晨7点醒来，如果饮酒达到50mg/100ml，相当于水面剥夺约17个小时，即晚上0:00点你的疲劳度。虽然很少测试者达到了0.1%的血液含量，但结果还是提示相当于睡眠剥夺至18-19小时，相当于半夜人的疲劳度。

所以睡眠剥夺的大脑类似于醉酒时的大脑。这时候开车、做精细工作均应警惕。
